As a socially responsible organization, EGI is conscious of appreciating the human capital and the environmental assets alike. It places great importance in giving back to the community and nature. As a first step to fulfilling this responsibility, we place great value on education. We foresee that a well-educated populace will foster a more sustainable society. With this in mind, 30% of all Karam Foods profits are entrusted (waqf) for education, to support scholarships and to educate underprivileged children, within the region and outside at a later stage. EGI puts great emphasis on transparent management of this initiative, to ensure that they reach the right people. Furthermore, the Chairman has made this a direction in his will for his successors to continue to honor this commitment to the deserving.
